Attendees will come from across sectors, roles, and career stages, and they will take in information in different ways. 🤝 Lead with Inclusion

• Treat all attendees—students, scholars, practitioners—as equally valued contributors.
• Set a tone of respect, openness, and shared learning.

🗣️ Use Thoughtful Language & Thoughtful Design

• Avoid outdated or harmful expressions.
  • 🔁 Instead of: “They jumped on the bandwagon”
  • ✅ Try: “They accepted the idea without critical thought.”
• Choose inclusive greetings: “Hello colleagues,” “Hi everyone,” not gendered terms like “ladies and gentlemen.”
• Consider universal design principles for all abilities and backgrounds.
  • ✅ 24pt+ simple sans serif fonts; high-contrast text/backgrounds; clean layouts with plenty of white space; spell out or avoid acronyms.
